Journeyman & Master Plumber

Qualifications

Journeyman and Master Plumbers lead jobs, crews, projects and Apprentice Plumbers.  Licensed Plumbers at Kimbel Mechanical Systems work primarily in new residential and commercial construction.  Journeymen and Master Plumbers must have knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures within the plumbing field.

Skills

Journeyman and Master Plumbers install, modify, inspect, repair and maintain plumbing fixtures in water, gas and drainage systems according to specifications and building codes.  Journeyman and Master Plumbers perform necessary tasks on all phases of plumbing by relying on experience and knowledge.  Journeyman and Master Plumbers identify plumbing and safety problems applicable to the installation and take necessary corrective action. Must be able to read blueprints, take supervision and/or contractor instruction, and complete quality control sheets.  Must be able to make decisions on the job site, without disruption to the business or to work and job quality.

Education

Must have a valid Journeyman or Masters license.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to sit, stand and walk for long periods of time.  Lifting heavy objects, crawling and bending required 50% of the time in this job.  Must be able to go up and down stairs, into crawl spaces and sit in a vehicle to get to the job sites.  Must be able to bend/stoop, squat/crouch, climb, kneel and twist.  Must be able to climb ladders, work both inside and outside, and around moving equipment.

Apprentice Plumber

Qualifications

Apprentice Plumbers will work with a licensed Journeyman or Master Plumber. Apprentice Plumbers at Kimbel Mechanical Systems work primarily in new residential and commercial construction. Apprentices must have knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures within the plumbing field.

Skills

Apprentice Plumbers learn to install, modify, inspect, repair and maintain plumbing fixtures in gas, water and drainage systems according to applicable building codes.  Apprentice Plumbers perform necessary tasks on all phases of plumbing.  Must be able to learn to identify plumbing and safety problems applicable to installation and take necessary corrective action.  Must be able to learn to read blueprints, take supervisor or contractor instruction and complete quality control sheets.  Must be able to follow direction.

Education

Plumbing Apprentices complete a four year training program, with both classroom instruction and on-the-job training.  Upon completion of apprenticeship, apprentices can test for a Journeyman Plumbing license.  All apprentices must have a current apprentice card.

HVAC Installer

Qualifications

HVAC employees lead jobs, crews and projects.  Installers at Kimbel Mechanical Systems work primarily in new residential and commercial construction.  HVAC employees must have knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures within the HVAC field, including ventilation, air conditioning, heating and environmental control systems.

Skills

HVAC team members install, modify, inspect, repair and maintain HVAC equipment according to specifications and building codes.  Construct, modify and repair both rough-ins and finishes by relying on experience and knowledge.  Identify hazards and safety problems applicable to the installation and operations and take necessary corrective action.  Must be able to read blueprints, take supervisor and/or contractor instruction and complete quality control sheets.  Must be able to make decisions on the job site without disruption to the business or to work and job quality.

Education

Must have relevant HVAC experience.  Must be registered or able to register with the state licensing authority within 30 days of hire.

Physical Requirements

Journeyman & Master Electrician

Journeyman and Master Electricians lead jobs, crews, projects and Apprentice Electricians.  Licensed Electricians at Kimbel Mechanical work primarily in new residential and commercial construction. Journeymen and Master Electricians must have knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures within the electrical field.

Skills

Journeyman and Master Electricians install, modify, inspect, repair and maintain electrical equipment in electrical systems  according to specifications and building codes.  Journeyman and Master Electricians perform necessary tasks on either rough-ins, services or trim out phases by relying on experience and knowledge.  Journeyman and Master Electricians identify electrical, plumbing and safety problems applicable to the installation and take necessary corrective action.  Must be able to read blueprints, take supervision and/or contractor instruction, and complete quality control sheets.  Must be able to make decisions on the job site, without disruption to the business or to work and job quality.

Education

Must have a valid Journeyman or Masters License from a State Board of Electrical Examiners.  At Kimbel Mechanical, this must be a valid Arkansas Journeyman or Masters License.

Apprentice Electricians will work with a licensed Journeyman or Master Electrician.  Apprentice Electricians may also lead jobs, crews and other electricians.  Apprentice Electricians at Kimbel Mechanical Systems work primarily in new residential and commercial construction. They must have knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures within the electrical field.

Skills

Apprentices install, modify, inspect, repair and maintain electrical equipment according to specifications and building codes. Apprentices perform necessary tasks on either rough-ins, services, or trim out phases by relying on experience and knowledge.  Apprentices identify electrical and safety problems applicable to the installation and operations and take necessary corrective action.  Must be able to read blueprints, take supervisor and/or contractor instruction and complete quality control sheets.  Must be able to make decisions on the job site without disruption to the business or to work and job quality.

Education

Electrical Apprentices must complete a four year training program, involving both classroom instruction and on-the-job training.  After 640 school hours and 8,000 OJT hour completion, Apprentices must test for a Journeyman's License.  All Apprentices must have a current apprentice card, and be actively attending school.  Failure to meet requirements will result in termination.
